The Auction
A registration is required in order to participate in the auction of these (still) unknown artworks. You have to present a valid ID and fill out the registration form, available at the auction location. It is therefore wise to arrive a little earlier. Registration can also be done prior to the auction during the viewing days from Wednesday / Sunday.
On Sundays it is still possible to see the art pieces and ask questions to the artists. When the auction has started the pieces can be bought by bidding. The auctioneer sets a starting amount then the bidding begins. The order of the offer is published in the printed catalog (available during the viewing days).
Alternative bid option
There are two ways to bid on the Young Masters. The first is by bidding during the auction. This is a program enriched with live music, performances and refreshments. An afternoon that you should not miss!
It is also possible to leave a written offer before the auction. Thus it is no longer necessary to attend the auction itself. The written bidding form can be requested at kers@ongekend.nu or during the viewing days. The written amount represents a maximum eg. if it is 500 euros and there is no more than 200 euros offered during the auction, the owner of the written bid will receive the piece for 200 euros (excluding surcharges).
We ask a very small fee from the artists. For this reason we also ask the buyer for a contribution of 17.85% (> 1.000euro) to 23.8% (<1.000euro) (the so-called premium, VAT included). ONGEKEND covers the costs by collecting money from both sides thus the artists get more which is a good way to stimulate a glorious start to his or her career after leaving the academy.
