I am interested in the representation of male and female, its union, differences, sexuality and the social position within a society. I see the male and female as two opposing. Despite the differences there is always a magnetic tension and strive for a unity. I transposed this idea into opposing materials. By joining them together I aimed to achieve a seamless transition, which flows smoothly from one material into the other. Thus creating an ambiguous symbiosis. The meeting point is neither one nor the other, but an individual new essence. Like in the human world the ambiguous group which we call “the intersexed”. When wearing the necklace I want the wearer to experience his/her opposing feminine or masculine side.
