About Jos
Although my inspiration comes from the more old-school photographers who spend endless nights in the darkroom, I find myself deeply rooted in the digital revolution within photography. This allows me to use any kind of light and colors to achieve the effect I want making my photography ideal for the fashion, music and advertising industries .Due to this digital workflow I am not only able to capture the desired images, but also to handle the complete post production where my specialties lie in usage of high dynamic range and retouch. In this way I am able to provide a complete in-house service for my clients.
My curiosity for photography enveloped when I started to photograph for one of the most well known Dutch music websites, love2party.nl . During this period, I developed such a network within the music industry, which enabled me to make a serie of portraits of international DJ’s like Louie Vega, Denis Ferrer, Lucien Foort and Benny Rodrigues. From that point on I knew I have found my passion; photography. Even though the trigger was my love for good music, my professional work is aimed towards the fashion and advertising industry. In a short period of time I was able to extend my portfolio with clients such as L’Oreal, Quick and Talkies magazine. (The experience gained with such international clients gives me the opportunity the further specialize my work within fashion industry,
My devotion for photography led me to enter the Foto Acadamie Amsterdam after which I extended my studies at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam. Since two and a half years I have been working as a professional photographer and opened my own studio at the Creative
Factory located in Rotterdam Recently my work was nominated for the Holland Diep award, the jury included well renowned photographers such as Erwin Olaf, Rineke Dijkstra and Diana Blok.
